Rooms at Shannon River House can be booked up to six months in advance. The minimum stay is two nights. There are five rooms available , ranging from a cosy double bedroom overlooking the river to the family room that can sleep up to four adults. Please see the room details for more information.
We would like to draw your attention to certain aspects of this house.
- This is a home share and not a hotel. This is a family home and we have friendly dogs living with us at one end of the house. To most guests this is a bonus, but if dogs aren’t your thing please let us know and we will try to keep them away from you. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.
- Unless you have booked exclusive use of the whole house (see Parteen-A-Lax), you might be sharing the house and common areas with family members and other guests.
- We are committed to the refurbishment of this historic house and grounds and we thank you for supporting this work with your custom, we ask you to acknowledge that this isn’t a sterile new hotel build. Tackling the aging process in some rooms is slower than we would like but is underway. We hope that this will not interfere with your enjoyment.
- You are paying for far more than your bedroom. We urge you to make use of the entire house and enjoy the gardens and common rooms as well as your bedroom. If you would like to be shown around the house and gardens, we are very happy to oblige.

- Cancellation and prepayment policies vary according to apartment type. Please enter the dates of your stay and check what conditions apply to your preferred room.
- Children and extra beds
- Each child under 3 years is charged 10% per night in a crib. Each older child or adult is charged 45% per person per night in an extra bed. The maximum number of cribs in a room is 1. The maximum number of extra beds in a room is 1. Any type of extra bed or crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management. Additional fees are not calculated automatically in the total cost and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.

Master Bedroom
This is the main bedroom in the house looking out onto the river and main gardens of the house. It has a four posted antique bed with a new mattress. The two windows have wooden shutters for privacy and darkness. All bedding is included with a heated blanket and towels. There is a hair dryer and ironing facilities available. Clothes hanging rails are available. The room sleeps up to 4 people in two double beds, (one of these is a pull out sofa bed) An infant cot is also available. Maximum two children with an adult. There is a sofa bed in the room that extends into a double bed. The room shares a bathroom with other guests. The bathroom is in the corridor, outside the room.
Garden Bedroom with large bed
This is a beautiful corner room with a large sash window that looks out over the garden lawn and down across the river. It has a large super king size sleigh bed and the windows have wooden shutters for privacy and darkness. It shares a bathroom with the master bedroom. All bedding is included with a heated blanket and towels. There is a hair dryer and ironing facilities available. Clothes hanging rails are available.
Cosy Garden Room
This small double room has a kingsize double bed that looks out over the gardens and down to the river. The room shares a bathroom with the master bedroom and accesses all the common areas of the house, including the kitchen, the drawing room and the dining room which guests are encouraged to enjoy. The window has wooden shutters for privacy and darkness. All bedding is included with a heated blanket and towels. There is a hair dryer and ironing facilities available. Clothes hanging rails are available.
Garden Room with river views
A beautiful room overlooking the garden and the River Shannon. The room has a large four posted bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower, loo and basin.
Family Room
A highly configurable bedroom with a full ensuite bathroom. Standard check-in times is after 5pm and check out time is midday. Please contact me if you wish to check in or check out outside of these times. Bags may be dropped off and securely stored outside of these times. It would be very helpful if you could tell us how you would like the room set up for your arrival. There are various options which are listed below. The room can be set up as follows: A. Super king size bed B. Super king size bed and a single bed. C. Two single beds D. Three single beds E. Four single beds Please note that the room is normally configured as a double room with a superking bed.
The Piggery Apartment
This two room studio apartment is accessed independently and opens out onto the garden. The apartment has a kitchenette, a seating area with a bunk bed and a double room with an ensuite bathroom.
